Announcing Florida Whammy Entertainment’s return to SwampCon!

Formed in 2008 under the name “The Game Show Gurus”, Florida Whammy Entertainment is a not-for-profit professional organization that designs, creates, operates, and performs various interactive entertainment events for conventions.

Specializing in Game Shows, their highly experienced team have created and developed game shows, panels, and other original programming for a number of regionally and nationally known fan conventions and events focusing and specializing in a variety of genres in popular culture, Japanese culture, Otaku culture, and other various cultures and fandoms alongside also making appearances in community events as well.

Florida Whammy Entertainment has been producing panels and shows for 8 years! FWE’s unparalleled experience in multiple aspects of conventions ensures and allows them to be prepared for any unexpected request and lets them keep a few tricks up their sleeves when it comes to the future.

Florida Whammy’s Board of Directors oversees the entire organization and ensure that the company is moving in the right direction and not moving away from the original core ideals that it was founded on. FWE is also backed by a support team of over 20 individuals who lend their time and talent to helping FWE achieve its mission statement of bringing quality Interactive Entertainment to conventions across the country.

Florida Whammy Entertainment’s goal is to provide an entertainment experience that will leave every participant with a lasting impression on FWE, the host convention, and various cultures as well. Dookieshed returns to SwampCon V!

Hunter Hughes, aka Dookieshed, is a popular YouTuber and the creator of the “Pokémon will F*** You Up” video series. He is the mastermind behind Mega Man March, in which he dedicates an entire month to the Blue Bomber. He also happens to be a UF grad who grew up right here in Gainesville! He enjoys making video game reviews and Top 10 lists, and has been known to accidentally film his videos in his underwear.

Author Richard Lee Byers will be Returning for SwampCon V!

Richard Lee Byers is the author of over forty fantasy and horror novels including Pathfinder Tales: Called to Darkness, Blind God’s Bluff: A Billy Fox Novel, The Reaver: The Sundering Book IV, Black Dogs (first in his new “Black River Irregulars” trilogy), and the “Impostor” series. His novel The Spectral Blaze won Diehard GameFAN’s award for the Best Game-Based Novel of 2011. Richard has also published dozens of short stories, some of which are collected in the eBooks The Q Word and Other Stories and Zombies in Paradise. His first graphic novel, the latest installment in the “Basil & Moebius” series created by Ryan Schifrin, will be out soon. He is also working on new electronic games.

Richard lives in the Tampa Bay area and is a frequent guest at Gen Con, Dragon Con, and Florida SF conventions.

Our final featured cosplay guest, Alyson Tabbitha!

Alyson Tabbitha is a cosplayer, artist, and YouTuber. She started costume making in 2006, and “officially” cosplaying to conventions in 2014.  More recently she started uploading helpful makeup and cosplay related tutorials to her YouTube channel. Whether it’s as a guest, contest judge, or regular attendee, Alyson usually attends and supports local conventions to cosplay and make friends! At the end of the day she is just a girl that really likes to play dress up.

Pikabellechu is returning for SwampCon V!

It’s the one, the only, Pikabellechu! And she’s coming back to SwampCon V as a featured guest!

PikaBelleChu has been cosplaying for over 16 years and has created over 80 costumes to date ranging from original Pokemon inspired gowns to Disney, SciFi and other anime characters. She is most famous for her continuing passion for Pokemon though the years and has appeared at many Pokemon events and tours along with her Pikachu inspired VW Beetle, she has also appeared on several television shows, appeared in several magazines and newspapers around the world, but is most known for gaining a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records in 2008 for having the World’s Largest Pikachu collection with over 20,000 items of the famous electric mouse. When not attending conventions and other events she also does many children’s events and has done a lot of charity work for Make-A Wish foundation through her cosplay as well as teach art classes on how to draw cartoons and make crafts at a craft store and painting murals in her town in homes and businesses.

Confirming JezzabellGem as a Costume Contest Judge and Cosplay Guest!

JezzabellGem is back for another wonderful time at SwampCon V!

JezzabellGem is a Florida based cosplayer, costumer and prop maker as well as a ‘positive cosplay’ and ‘anti-bullying’ advocate, and the founder of Heroes United Against Cosplay Bullying.

To JezzabellGem, Graphic Designer and video game lover turned cosplayer and social advocate, it’s a powerful creative outlet that isn’t just fun — it’s a positive platform that can help channel inner strength and help participants discover how to feel good about themselves, embrace their uniqueness and learn new skills along the way.

JezzabellGem has been cosplaying for the last 8 years. She’s taken it more seriously as a business by creating costumes and props, cosplaying, attending conventions as a guest and giving informative and supportive panels steadily for the last two years.

She’s a multi-genre fan, loves all things horror, and her favorite video game is STILL Skyrim. She’s an old school Rocky Horror, A Clockwork Orange, Pee-Wee Herman and Ren and Stimpy enthusiast and her favorite character since childhood is Wonder Woman.
